Hey y'all! I am Lora Eubanks, admin and creator of this site. To give you a bit of background on me, I started off as a dancer and studied ballet and modern from elementary school through college. When I was 19, I was in a show that featured an aerialist and fell in love with the art. I have trained in silk, lyra, trapeze, and pole for the past 6 years and have been am an instructor. I am also the owner and artistic director of Ignite Aerials, an aerial and dance company from Columbia, SC.

Hi Lora, I'm Sarah, I have always loved watching silk performances and wanted to be able to do it, now I am it is so hard! I am incredibly unfit after having 2 kids and have very little strength to lift myself so any tips on what I can do to improve this so I can actually do what I need to in classes would be fantastic! hopefully everyone will join in the forum and we can all support each other!

I completely understand! I was very very unfit when I started aerial as well, 50 lbs heavier than I am now, and had no upper body strength at all. But stick with it and I feel that at home conditioning is crucial to build up the strength needed!

Hi, nice site. I have been doing aerial arts, mainly silks, for 10 years minus two pregnancy breaks, so I completely understand the re conditioning afterwards. I have done performances, taught for two years, and helped do coreography for a few shows. I am currently in McKinleyville California and jumping through hoops trying to get all the insurance and paperwork in line to teach again. Cheers. I have a silks solo and a duet piece on youtube under kmcguinn.
